Huw Stephens

Huw presents radio shows on BBC Radio 1 Monday – Wednesday nights at 10pm. His passion for discovering and championing new music was spotted at only 17 when he joined Radio 1 for its Nations output to reflect the music scene in Wales. Following in the footsteps of the late John Peel, Huw became a national presenter on BBC Radio 1 in 2005, as the front man of the OneMusic. Huw also curates the BBC Introducing Stage, which showcases emerging artists at some of the biggest festivals in the world including SXSW, Reading and Glastonbury.

Here's what Huw had to say about coming to Dingle: "After witnessing the first Other Voice Stage at Electric Picnic earlier this year, I'm so excited to be coming to Dingle. Not for the first time, as me and my sister went there on holiday when I was ten years old, and I spent all our travelling money on ice cream. But to come to Dingle properly, with the excellent line up again this year, I fell very lucky indeed."

Huw has been nominated for various awards such as the Bafta Cymru award. He also runs is own festival called ‘Swn’ in Cardiff that takes place in venues across the city to highlight up and coming talent.
