Annie Mac Again

So I spent the early part of December in Ireland filming music TV show Other Voices, in a little village on the south west coast of the island called Dingle. It's quite a cliched view of ireland..all quaint with as many pubs as people and surrounded by majestic green landscape. I drank a lot of Guinness and laughed solid for a week and saw some amazing bands. Every night 4 bands play in this tiny little church ...the line ups were amazing.. really interesting challenging music from all the world, my favourites were The Antlers from Brooklyn, this crazy bunch of hairy men from North Carolina called Megafaun. They used to be in a band with Bon Iver. Temper Trap from Melbourne played and they were so good live. They reminded me of a rockier version of Friendly fires live..it's all wigouts and proper dancing.. Dougie the lead singers voice is unbelievable and he is an amazing frontman. He was slightly fragile after a night in the hospital the night before. They were supporting Florence And The Machine and he whacked his face in to the head of the bassplayers bass. he nearly took his nose off and had to have his septum stitched back onto his face. i can see them blowing up in a massive way next year. Then there was the XX who had just flown in from NYC and were slightly dazed and confused but lovely with it.

Here are some of my pics from the week
